Moby-Dick by Herman Melville is one of the most influential books I have read. On the surface, it may read as a tragic story of a mad captain who sacrifices his and his crew’s lives chasing a silly ego against an animal that doesn’t even care for human beings and lives in the ocean away from the world of man. However, there are deeper layers to the story that one can interpret based on their understanding and imagination.
