A good teacher is one whose goal is to make himself unnecessary.
If you always need the teacher, that’s a bad teacher.
If you always need the driving instructor to be in the car, that’s a bad driving instructor.
The goal of a teacher should always be to make himself unnecessary, redundant.
A true teacher cannot have any teaching, except to make you realize that the teacher was never needed
That you already had everything in you
When you take swimming lessons, the teacher doesn’t swim on behalf of you
The better the teacher, the faster you start swimming by yourself
Some teachers pretend that they are good by making you rely on them forever
You also feel good because you feel your teacher is really dedicated to you
But those are bad teachers.
Your goal is not to admire the teacher.
Your goal is to be independent.
And that’s the greatest reward you can offer your teacher.
By making him redundant.
By becoming independent.
Kill the Buddha!
