What you can learn from Buddhism?

A few bullet points here-

  1. Avoid extremes of any kind. Overindulgence in sex, food, sleep, wealth, fame, etc. leads to downfall, not success. Don’t avoid, don’t crave. Always take the middle path.
  2. Suffering ain’t always bad because it can lead to liberation.
  3. Meditation just means perfect rest. You can meditate even while walking.
  4. Practice mindfulness in everything. Mindful eating is healthy eating.
  5. When we have a toothache, we know that not having a toothache is happiness. But later, when we don’t have a toothache, we don’t treasure our non toothache. Practicing mindfulness helps us learn to appreciate the well-being that is already there. With mindfulness, we treasure our happiness.
  6. A silver bird flies over the autumn lake. When it has passed, lake’s surface does not try to hold on to the image of the bird.
